The prestigious Voice of the Profession session organized each year by the AIJA Human Rights Committee will address Women in Law & Innovation this year. The impact of innovation on the future of the legal profession and gender equality in leadership positions is a topic of crucial importance to young lawyers who are building careers and families simultaneously, AND a topic that all law firms and companies must confront, if they are to stay competitive. The session is open to all interested!

Tsukiko Tsukahara is vice-president of Catalyst in Japan, a leading US non-profit organization accelerating progress for women through workplace inclusion and promoting the measurable and documented benefits of having women in leadership positions. As a mother with three children, she herself is also implementing “workstyle change” to juggle childcare and work. She will address the impact of innovation on the future of the legal profession through Inclusive Leadership, presenting the important data, research results and proven benefits of inclusion.

As an entrepreneur, ex- lawyer and journalist, Dana Denis-Smith founded obelisksupport.com to keep city lawyers, especially mothers, working flexibly, around their family or other personal commitments and to provide clients with an affordable and quality legal support solution onshore. In 2012, her innovative business model was recognized by the FT Innovative Lawyers Award and obelisksupport.com has been named by The Times as one of UK's Top 50 Employers for Women in 2016 and 2015. In 2014 Dana founded a unique history project – www.first100years.co.uk – charting the journey of women in law through a video social history @first100years.
